What is seva?

In Hinduism, seva means selfless service and is often associated with karma yoga, disciplined action, and bhakti yoga, disciplined devotion. Seva is also connected to other Sanskrit concepts such as dāna (gift giving), karunā (compassion), and preman (kindness).

Become a member

Annual membership - $125.

Kasi Temple is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3). Donations to the temple are tax deductible. The temple is open to all members and non-members. In order to sustain operations, the temple requires funds. All devotees are welcome to be members of the temple. However, only residents of the counties Genesee, Shiawassee, Saginaw, Tuscola, Lapeer, Oakland, Livingston, or Ingham can be voting members. Annual membership is from January 1 to December 31. Annual members eligible to vote based on the county of residence need to ensure they pay their membership dues on or before March 31, of that calendar year. All devotes are welcome to become members of Kasi temple and help sustain the temple into the future.

Become a volunteer

High-schoolers will be awarded certificates for volunteering.

​Volunteering Options:​

  1. Assist at the kitchen on Saturday or Sunday in any one of the shifts (11.00 am - 3.00 pm, 3.00 pm - 7.00 pm). 

  2. Volunteer New years day at the temple 

  3. Mahashivarathri at the temple and kitchen

  4. Ganesh Chaturthi at the temple and kitchen

  5. Navarathri at the temple and kitchen
